What is warranty?

At Jo Beau, machines are designed and manufactured according to a controlled quality in order to guarantee a long life and permanent safety of the machine. Should a hidden defect or abnormal breakage occur during the run-in period (the guaranteed period), Jo Beau will, subject to compliance with a prescribed procedure, have the necessary repair carried out free of charge so that the objective is achieved.

Warranty conditions:

Jo Beau, as manufacturer, enters into a warranty obligation for new machines as described below:

I. Guaranteed period:
The guaranteed period commences upon delivery by the dealer/seller to the end customer/rental company (max. 1 week after purchase) and expires:

  • For private use after 2 years.
  • In case of rental after 1/2 year or 100 working hours*.
  • In case of semi- or professional use after 1 1/2 years or 200 working hours*.

To benefit from this guarantee as a customer, you must be able to present your purchase invoice.
Jo Beau doubles the above warranty period (read: not the working hours) if the appliance is registered within 2 weeks of purchase:

* whichever is reached first / without hour meter provided by Jo Beau, the working hours do not apply.

II. When is warranty not applicable:

  • Wear parts are not covered by warranty conditions: (e.g. blades, bearings, belts, tyres, bulbs, fuses ...)
  • When the defect is the result of improper use, neglect or consequential damage due to external influences (fall, stone chips, foreign objects, accident).
  • When it appears that the defect originates from failure to carry out the prescribed periodic maintenance.
  • When a defect occurred after carrying out repairs by a non-authorised Jo Beau dealer or with non-original Jo Beau parts.
  • When the defect is a consequence of unauthorised modification of the original design of the machine.
  • When the defect results from use that does not comply with the instructions in the manual.
  • When the prescribed warranty procedure is not followed or the warranty period has expired.
  • When parts were fitted incorrectly by a third party.
  • For engine defects, please contact an authorised service centre of the engine brand (Honda / Briggs & Stratton). Jo Beau does not stock spare parts for these engines.
  • External causes such as damage during transport or due to weather conditions.
  • Installation of replacement parts will not extend the warranty period.

III. Procedure:

  • Step 1: Upon purchase, the registration cards provided are completed in full. The original form will be returned to Jo Beau within two weeks of purchase. The customer will keep a copy of the registration card, the other statements and his purchase invoice until after the expiry of the warranty period. The purchase will be registered at www.jobeau.eu.
  • Step 2: If a defect occurs, the customer will have it established by his authorised Jo Beau dealer. If this dealer, taking into account the conditions, believes that there is a manufacturer's fault, he can apply for warranty.
  • Step 3: To apply, an official application form via the website www.jobeau.eu must be filled in completely.
  • Quick procedure:
  1. The warranty application should be accompanied with clear photos of the defective part and serial number plate. This allows us to respond quickly if the photos and description are clear enough to assess the warranty claim.
  2. In case of warranty, Jo Beau will automatically send the parts to the dealer.
  3. In case no warranty is granted, Jo Beau will inquire whether these parts may be supplied at a charge.
  4. Working hours on warranty cases will not be reimbursed by Jo Beau.
  • Normal procedure:
  1. The merchant orders the parts needed to carry out the repair without attached photos (e.g. if the situation is difficult to capture on photo), a photo of the serial number plate is a requirement. A message/description of the warranty can be added alongside the order.
  2. A copy of that order, plus a copy of the purchase invoice and/or registration card will be sent to Jo Beau together with the defective part.
  3. Jo Beau will meanwhile send the ordered parts to the dealer on normal delivery and payment terms.
  4. Jo Beau's technical department will investigate the abnormal breakage and will give a ruling on the cause and will thereby confirm or reject the warranty. In any case, Jo Beau reserves the right to decide whether the customer has fulfilled the conditions for validity of this guarantee of be it 1 or 2 years.
  5. In case the guarantee request is accepted, Jo Beau will credit the guaranteed parts.

IV. In case of transport damage:

  • Goods are packed in a sturdy box or crate and delivered ex-factory, the transport risk is hereby borne by the customer. It is therefore important to check the goods for damage upon delivery.
  • If damage is found, it will be noted on the delivery note before signing for receipt.
  • Have the report on your statement signed by the lorry driver.
  • Without this written and signed notification on the delivery note, the transport insurance will disclaim any liability.
  • A copy of the delivery note and a cover letter can be used to claim compensation from the transport company.
  • The damaged machine will be kept in its original state until after the possible assessment by the transport company's insurer.
